LOCAL CYCLING enthusiasts will use their passion for a worthy and divine cause—the reconstruction of the 40-foot concrete cross at Meditation Hills in Sapian, Capiz.

On Oct. 24 and 25, the Capiz Cyclists Club, Inc. (CCCI), in cooperation with the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, will sponsor a mountain bike fun ride cum fundraising dubbed “Sikad, Panaad sa Meditation Hills.”

Meditation Hills is one of the province’s tourist attractions and became the official “Pilgrimage Capital of Capiz” after a resolution approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in 2012. Its concrete cross was destroyed by Supertyphoon Yolanda.

Free registration is on Oct. 24 from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. and the assembly is in front of the Capiz provincial capitol.

Riders will ply their route around Roxas City on October 24 at 6 p.m. while on the second day, the route will be from the Capiz Provincial Capitol passing by Roxas City Hall, Roxas Avenue, Pueblo de Panay, Brgy. Sibaguan, Ivisan , Sapian to Meditation Hills at 5 a.m., with assembly time at 4 a.m. in front of the Capiz Provincial Capitol. Bikers are advised to bring lights for the night tour on Oct 24.

Only those wearing helmets will be allowed to ride.

Biking enthusiasts from Bacolod, Antique, Kalibo, Manila, and other bikers were also invited to join. Donations can also be given to CCCI President Beda Arceño or CCCI Treasurer Mr. Vicente Bargas.
