“ROXAS CITY and Capiz have arrived,” Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 head Helen Catalbas said.

“Tourism and travel in this part of the country is not only growing by leaps and bounds; it is pole-vaulting,” the local tourism chief said during the inaugural Tigerair Philippines’ Manila–Roxas flight Oct. 23 at the Roxas City Airport.

According to Catalbas, the launch of the new route of Tigerair Philippines adds to the “vibrant tourism industry” of Capiz.

Top Capiz officials led by Gov. Victor Tanco said that Capiz is recovering fast.

“The confidence that investors are showing by visiting Capiz is a sign that the province is recovering fast after Yolanda.”

“This is the new Capiz,” Tanco said. “I am confident that if we survived Yolanda, we can survive anything.”

The Tiger Airways Roxas daily flight departs from Manila at 2:00 p.m. and lands in Roxas at 3:05 P.M. Return flight from Roxas is at 3:35 p.m. and arrival in Manila is 4:40 p.m.
