ROXAS CITY — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently turned over two checks to be used in the recovery and rehabilitation of Capiceños from supertyphoon Yolanda.

Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco and Vice-Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras II received said checks from lawyer Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, PCSO general manager in a ceremony held at the residence of Interior Sec. Mar Roxas in Brgy. Baybay here.

Sources from the PCSO Central Office said that the checks are worth P131,914.27, share of Capiz from the PCSO’s lotto game for the January-to-June 2014 period and P6,780,372 as the “Pamaskong Handog ng PCSO” to Capiz.

PCSO has also conducted a special fundraising from the lotto held last Christmas to benefit areas damaged by Yolanda.

For his part, Tanco said: “We appreciate and are very thankful for the early Christmas gift of PCSO to the people of Capiz.”

“We assure Capiceños that these checks will be rightfully used in the rehabilitation effort of the provincial government to the typhoon victims,” Tanco said.

Meanwhile, PCSO Roxas City Branch Manager Jose Manuel Villagracia urged Capiceños to continue their support to the activities of PCSO. (Alex Lumaque)
